  Hurdles

Stephanie Stephenson's 34-year coaching career, including 28 years as head coach of the East Kentwood High School girls track and field team, is a testament to her dedication and expertise. She has shaped countless athletes, coaching over 200 All-State competitors, including more than 30 All-State hurdlers, showcasing her ability to develop elite talent. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes safety, skill development, and a competitive yet supportive environment, contributing to her athletes' lasting success. Beyond EKHS, her involvement with the Kentwood Track Club and Aquinas College sprint and hurdle camps reflects her passion for nurturing talent across West Michigan, helping athletes grow while elevating competition in the region.

Jumps

Over the course of his 25 years at East Kentwood, Burton coached more than 40 athletes who earned All-State honors in the long jump and high jump. He also guided five athletes to state championships, including one female athlete who won the state title in high jump—the first female state champion in East Kentwood track and field history. Burton currently teaches Elementary Physical Education in the Kentwood School District, but will join Aquinas full-time after the conclusion of the school year.
